Happy Hallo-WHAT!?

So, I know it's the last week in July - and you are probably thinking - school hasn't started yet, why the heck is she posting for Halloween?

Well, I'll tell you why - it is simply because Halloween is one of the greatest holidays of the year - and to prepare for an appropriate Halloween party, you will need a fabulous Halloween invitation - and I find it my responsibility to post these early for your viewing. ;)

These digital files are currently available for purchase now within my ETSY shop. Formatted to 5x7 and personalized with your own party information - how can you go wrong?
Do you have a son/daughter with a Halloween themed birthday? No problem, I can change wording accordingly.

I love each of these designs for different reasons.... Which is your favorite?

Speak.

When I stop and think about my favorite part of design and what I enjoy most - it is without hesitation that I think of - the creative use of fonts/color and words. I always have joked that my dream job would be to work for Hallmark - and it still is. To be able to write greeting cards would be the highlight of my professional career. However, in the meantime, I have started creating prints - prints with meaning. More than a quote, more than a feeling, it's a definition....a definition of what's important to you. I've done a few pieces custom for clients, but last night, in a funk after feeling let down, I sat and brainstormed all of the pieces of what makes me who I am. I coupled those thoughts with colors that reflect me as a person and put together a pretty awesome print. The birth of "Speak." was born last night.
For some time now, I have wanted to move forward with pieces like these. In the early beginnings I created something similar on canvas - calling it "A play on words" --this is a bit more refined and has an awesome use of fonts. In the next few weeks I will be creating more pieces to the Speak. line. Within in the line, you will find a variety of purchase options - you may even choose to have me create a custom piece for a gift recipient in mind. I will offer prints in a variety of sizes and will offer framing options. I can't wait to move forward with this....Speak. will be a reflection of my true design love. It will be me, my words, and how I view subject areas. I long to create pieces for different professions, for moms, dads, daughters, sons, pets, you name it. Stay tuned.
And as always, thanks for stopping by!

There's No Place Like Home...

Anyone from the first time home buyer to the couple who has finally built their dream home is eager to share their new place with friends and family. I love these adorable Open House announcements that I created using the Home Sweet Home graphics by Jessica Weible. The simple design with "Join us" in the cloud gives a whimsical and dream feeling - becoming a home owner is the dream - isn't it?

I couldn't resist printing out each sample I created - showcasing a few home design styles - I printed these as 5.5x4.25 in size. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did making them. If you wish to purchase your own digital file personalized with your own open house information - let me know. These announcements are great even for the couple who want friends/family to know they've moved - a simple "We've Moved" announcement with some rewording could work just as nicely within this design.

I can create a custom listing with you in mind. I also offer print options to include envelopes. I print on 80# linen stock - white or cream.

Thanks for stopping by! ;)

I'm on FIRE!

...ok, so I'm really not on fire in the true sense, but as a part of the JW Design team, our first "Challenge" stamp issued was a firetruck...and while I'm the mom of two little girls, I took this first challenge as an opportunity to create an adorable little boy birthday invitation with matching fill-in the blank thank you card.
This challenge provided us with a stamp version of the firetruck. I use both stamps and clipart within my creations - and love both equally. The benefit of using a stamp version is the ability to choose your own way to color it. This means ENDLESS possibilities. ;)
I will be offering this design within my etsy shop for purchase. The digital file that I will personalize for you with your own child's information will be $15 - add on the matching thank you file for another $7. Purchase within my etsy shop under invitations.
These options are for you to PRINT ON YOUR OWN. If you wish for me to print, I happily discount the design fees to $10 for the invite and $5 for the Thank You. Invites/Thank You's are just $1.00 each and printed on linen stock.
What'cha think? I think it's a 911 emergency for CUTE!

Diapers for Dad

My most recent exciting news was shared yesterday - I was chosen to be a part of the Jessica Weible Illustrations Design Team - what is that you may ask? See for yourself! -
www.jessicaweible.com - get to know the other design team members as well! What does this mean for me? Yet another opportunity to challenge myself creatively and try things I may not have tried otherwise. I cannot tell you how excited I was when I got the news I had been selected - I have been a big fan of Jessica's work for some time now!
So, this week I already have a first round idea using a clipart set of Jessica's called Tailgate Party.
Contrary to how most may use this set, I, as in most cases see things just a bit differently - I used this set in an invitation set - perfect for a baby shower to honor the dad to be! I call this creation "Diapers for Dad" - I have sold this digital file, and also sell it for print within my etsy shop. Check it out within my etsy shop at: www.lizsage.etsy.com . I can see countless ways to use this art for any type of sport gathering, but love the idea behind this adorable invitation. Diapers for Dad ...diapers, dudes, drinking, duh!
